Nick Cannon may have time on his hands to be a dad to his many children, after all.

US reality star Nick Cannon will have to regroup with his creative team after his daytime talk show was cancelled after only one season.

Why is Nick Cannon talk show cancelled?

The 41-year-old amazed audiences and producers in 2020 when he stepped in for the ailing Wendy Williams on her show. His hosting skills on The Masked Singer also lent credence to VH1 awarding him his own daytime talk show.

However, six months into the gig, it seems the spark he brought into daytime TV has quickly dissipated.

Per Page Six, Cannon’s show has struggled to surpasses viewership numbers posted by The Wendy Williams Show at its worst run of a 600 000 average.

According to sources, the Wild N Out creator’s slot, which is carefully placed before Wendy’s segment, has, over the past six months, only scraped an average of 400 000 viewers per episode, a large drop in what was forecasted in 2021.

Moreover, at the time reports of the show’s cancellation leaked to publications, staffers had not been informed. But, we understand that some within the show had already started looking for jobs elsewhere since it was pretty clear early on that the daytime talk show held little promise of growth.

Cannon and the company behind the talk show, Debmar-Mercury, have yet to formally acknowledge the reports.

The 41-year-old father of ‘many’ courted controversy in January 2022 when he appeared at his latest baby shower with model Bre Tiesi, only a month after losing his son Zen, whom he shared with Alyssa Scott.

The five-month-old died in December 2021 of a brain tumour and, in an Instagram post, Scott criticised Cannon’s insensitivity in celebrating new life with another woman, only weeks after mourning the loss of his son.

“It is painful having my son be a part of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself,” she wrote.
