Nintendo delays Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp due to ongoing Ukraine war

The gaming developer noted "recent world events" as the reason behind the delay.

Nintendo will not release Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp in April as initially scheduled, a decision that received mixed reviews on social media.

Why is Nintendo not releasing Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp?

In a tweet, the gaming developer noted that the tactical war game series will not be available on 8 April 2022 due to recent world events. In this case, of course, Nintendo is referring to the ongoing Ukraine war.

“In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on 08/04. Please stay tuned for updates on a new release date,” Nintendo wrote.

The decision comes a week after Nintendo suspended payments on its Russian eShop, per EuroGamer.

The announcement left fans frustrated. Here are some of those reactions:

Advanced Wars is a Nintendo classic developed by Intelligent Systems and first released in the US market on 10 September 2001.

The tactical war game allows players control of tank units led by different factions. The Blue Moon faction is themed around Russia and the Soviet Union with its leader Olaf loosely based on Stalin.
