Lily Collins has set fans buzzing by sharing new behind-the-scenes (BTS) images from the filming of Emily in Paris Season 5, confirming that production has officially begun.

The actress, who plays the fashionable and ever-curious Emily Cooper, posted a selfie from Rome, where the show has kicked off filming its latest chapter.
In the photos and videos posted online, Collins is joined by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Marcello, Emily’s new romantic interest.
The images show the pair walking through the historic streets of Rome, hinting at the city’s central role in the upcoming season.
Although the new storyline begins in Italy, the show’s creators confirmed that production will return to Paris later in the year.
Creator Darren Star explained to Tudum, “The cast and crew of Emily in Paris are thrilled to begin filming Season 5 in the Eternal City. From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter takes us.”
Season 5 will continue the story from where Season 4 left off. In the last season, Emily started a new relationship with Marcello, a charming Italian fashion heir, and moved to Rome to help open a new office for her company, Agence Grateau.
Even though the setting has expanded to include Italy, the title of the show remains unchanged.
“Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris,” Star clarified.
The returning cast includes Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, and Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello.
Lily Collins, speaking on Good Morning America, shared her excitement about the new season and her character’s evolving journey.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” she said.
“We want to see her beyond her vacay mode.”
Star also added that Emily and Marcello’s romantic connection will be a major part of the new season.
“I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
Season 5 is expected to premiere later in 2025. For now, fans are keeping a close watch on updates from the set as Emily’s international adventures take shape.
