Nike continues to push boundaries this month with a new collaboration steeped in history and culture.
These Nike sneakers are dropping in October 2025
October 2025 opens with the Air Max RK61 x Air Afrique, a release that mixes the worlds of travel, heritage, and innovation.
Air Max RK61 x Air Afrique – R 3,899.95

- Two colourways: Beige and Black
- Available 09/10 at 12:00
Nike’s first partnership with Air Afrique pays homage to travel in style, fusing the airline’s legacy with Nike’s design language.
This loafer-inspired silhouette takes cues from Air Afrique’s beginnings — “RK” stands for the airline’s code and “61” its founding year — and layers in subtle storytelling.
Morse code dots the outsole edge, nodding to early aviation communication, while a jacquard sockliner recreates Air Afrique’s historic seat pattern.
A custom zip pull adds a metallic flash to the upper, and a Stadium Green Air bubble peeks through from the side and underfoot.
Air Afrique, founded as a cultural platform by young Parisians of African descent in 2021, draws from the airline’s archives to present Afro-diasporic art and aesthetics.
This shoe is their first sneaker collaboration, bridging past and present with design cues rooted in travel, culture and luxury.
Air Max 95 – R 3,499.95

- Medium Ash and Solar Red
- Available 10/10 at 12:00
Celebrating 30 years of Air Max attitude, this “Big Bubble” revival brings back the rippled DNA of the original 95 in full force. Mesh and synthetic leather stack in faded greys, with hits of Solar Red lighting up the lace loops, branding, and visible Air units. It’s nostalgia with more bounce—and more Air.
Women’s Air Max 95 ‘Big Bubble’ – R 3,799.95

- Black
- Available 14/10 at 12:00
A slick all-black remix of the Air Max 95 ‘Big Bubble’, this women’s edition dials up the premium feel. Layered leathers—glossy, matte, and textured—wrap the upper like armour. Add a jewelled Swoosh for shine, and you’ve got a stealthy staple built to flex.
Air Max Plus VII – R 3,699.95

- Varsity Maize
- Available 16/10 at 12:00
Two decades later and still untouchable, the Plus VII returns loud in Varsity Maize. The gradient silver-to-black overlays keep the energy pulsing across the upper, while visible Tuned Air and a chunky shank scream early-2000s swagger. Rock these with cargos and let the nostalgia do the rest.
Please note: This model runs about half a size larger than standard. Nike recommends ordering a half-size down for a typical fit.
Baltoro – R 2,999.95

- Black and White
- Available 17/10 at 12:00
The ‘90s outdoor classic is back. The Baltoro mixes full grain leather with tough textiles, landing somewhere between hiking boot and streetwear staple. The rugged upper, retro attitude, and trail-ready design make this one a functional flex—perfect for the urban explorer or mountain-bound misfit.
Air Max 95 – R 3,699.95

- Neon Yellow and Black
- Available 24/10 at 12:00
Another addition to the Air Max 95 “Big Bubble” line-up, this one keeps it classic with a gradient fade and eye-popping Neon Yellow accents. From the stacked leather and mesh upper to the iconic lace loops and bold Air units, it’s a vibrant nod to the OG that shaped street style for decades.
Air Force 1 – R 2,599.95

- Summit White and Black
- Available 24/10 at 12:00
This is not your regular AF-1. Nike throws a curveball with this eccentric drop featuring houseflies. Yes, houseflies. A metallic one on the dubrae, graphic hits in the transparent sole—this pair is crawling with detail, literally. Equal parts playful and weird, it’s a conversation starter from the ground up.
Air Jordan 1 Low OG – R 3,199.95

- Regency Purple and Dark Raisin
- Available 29/10 at 13:00
Zion vibes run deep in this AJ1 Low OG. From the raw-cut suede to the inverted Swoosh and voodoo doll embroidery, everything about this pair screams handcrafted mystique. Braided rope laces and upside-down logos add to the chaos—in the best way.
This is storytelling through sneakers, where heritage, flair, and New Orleans soul collide.
Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro – R 4,099.95

- Hyper Grape and Cave Purple
- Available 30/10 at 13:00
A sneaker as timeless as the music that inspired it. The Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro ‘Hyper Grape’ fuses elite performance with a tribute to pop icons of past and present.
The Cave Purple knit upper nods to the genre’s vibrancy, while a moon surface graphic on the outsole takes the tribute to a galactic level. With a React foam midsole, carbon-fibre plate, and multi-directional traction, this low-cut Protro isn’t just for looks—it’s made for high-level play, on or off the hardwood.
That’s it for October!

What to expect when buying sneakers online in South Africa
Most limited releases, including the Air Max RK61 x Air Afrique, are expected to drop on Nike SNKRS at 12:00 SAST on release day.
If you’re in South Africa, plan ahead:
- Pre-load your Nike profile and payment details before the release to avoid checkout delays.
- Stock for special collaborations is often limited, and pairs can sell out in minutes.
- SNKRS sometimes uses a queue or draw system for high-demand drops. Being online early helps but does not guarantee a purchase.
- For those who miss out, resale platforms may offer the shoe later at higher prices.
Shipping, duties and VAT
South African buyers should factor in extra costs beyond the listed retail price:
- Shipping: International delivery fees from Nike typically range between R500 and R1,000, depending on the service option.
- Import duties and VAT: Customs applies an additional 30% to 40% on the product’s retail price. This is charged upon entry into South Africa and can significantly raise the final cost.
- Estimated totals: A sneaker priced at R3,899.95 may end up costing closer to R5,000–R5,400 once shipping and duties are added.
Planning for these costs ensures there are no surprises when your order arrives at customs.
