Horrific scenes played out at the Tembisa Hospital in Gauteng, after a SAPS officer murdered his partner, a nursing assistant, in the parking lot, on Wednesday morning,
Tembisa Hospital cautiously reopens after vicious murder
In a statement, Gauteng health department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba confirmed the incident took place at approximately 08:00 and, at the time, the public hospital was forced to close its doors to “allow the police to work on the scene of the incident and for the debriefing and counselling of both staff and patients.”
Swisher Post spoke with an employee of Tembisa Hospital who confirmed that the healthcare facility will remain closed indefinitely due to the incident. The source further added that admitted patients will continue to receive care but intakes will be redirected to nearby hospitals.
According to Modiba, the police officer whose identity remains unknown, at this stage, was seen entering Tembisa Hospital at around 08:00 in his service vehicle with its blue lights on, suggesting that he may have been on duty at the time.
The officer parked the vehicle at the area designated for accident and emergency ambulances and called his partner, a 30-year-old nurse, to come to where he was located.
Immediately after she arrived, the police officer opened fire on the nurse, killing her instantly. He then turned the gun on himself in a bid to commit suicide.
However, from what we understand, his attempt failed and he, at the time this article was published, was receiving life-saving medical treatment.
“The motive of the [incident] is unclear and the department has released a statement [on] the tragic incident that has left both staff and patients shocked,” Modiba added.
Unverified reports suggest that the nurse is not the only victim in this crime of passion. From what we understand, the couple may have had a child who was reportedly also harmed by the police officer.
A police man went to Tembisa hospital and shot his wife at work, and also shot himself but he’s in ICU, he started with their child at home first, I live near the hospital and man there’s so many police cars😩😩😩😩
