Day 2 of Comic-Con Cape Town 2025 wrapped up with another full schedule of activities that drew crowds to the CTICC.

Main highlights from Day 2

From interactive quizzes and celebrity spotlights to cosplay contests and film screenings, the day offered a mix of fun, fan service and pop culture.

Festivities began with an upbeat fan briefing from DJ Elliot, who welcomed newcomers and seasoned fans alike. His quick session helped orient attendees to the day’s layout and key events, setting an energetic tone.

Not long after, the crowd got to meet beloved character duo Noodle & Bun in a quirky meet-and-greet session. This light moment was followed by a showcase of animated short films from the Cape Town International Animation Festival, tailored for a family audience.

Anime fans were treated to special panels featuring voice actor Zach Aguilar, best known for voicing Tanjiro in Demon Slayer, and YouTube creators Aki Dearest and The Anime Man.

Both sessions drew large crowds eager to hear stories behind the scenes and ask questions.

Cosplay took centre stage as fans dressed as their favourite characters took part in the Casual Cosplay Competition. This relaxed contest invited beginners and pros to show off their costumes in a fun and welcoming environment. Another round is scheduled for tomorrow.

Comic-Con also introduced the Telkom Next Gen Squad on stage, blending tech talk and entertainment with brief appearances from characters like Mario, Luigi, and the Smurfs—each posing for photos with excited fans.

Later in the day, the spotlight shifted to more educational and specialist content. Astrophysicist Daniel Cunnama answered questions about space, and international comic artists Rob Levin and Stephanie Lavaud hosted panels about breaking into the industry and bringing characters to life.

The evening wrapped up with two highlights: a behind-the-scenes look at the South African production Spelonk, followed by a screening of the film itself, offering a close view into local creativity in action.
