As reported by eNCA, fire and rescue officials cordoned off the road where a passenger-carrying bus plunged off a bridge, leaving a trail of devastation.

Details around the cause of the Heidelberg bus crash are still sketchy at this time. However, from the tidbits of reports coming from the scene of the crash, early indications suggest the bus veered off the road and ran into a bridge pillar before plunging down an embankment.

Before the plummet, it’s understood that a number of passengers found an opportunity to escape, while others were trapped inside.

The identities of the victims are still unknown at this time.
