For those in need of some assistance in unravelling the irony, LBC in Hip-Hop refers to Snoop Dogg and Warren G’s ‘213 LBC’ rap group that the legendary producer groomed.

Alas, on Wednesday, commenters were left completely stupefied when, in the middle of a serious discussion with Nicki Ferrari about Coffey’s new role in UK politics, her phone alarm went off on air.

The UK’s newly elected deputy prime minister quickly whipped out her phone to pause the alarm, but her microphone had faintly captured a few notes of Dr Dre’s distinct drum patterns on the iconic Hip-Hop classic, Still Dre.

Five facts about the UK’s new deputy prime minister

Coffey was elected as the UK’s deputy prime minister and secretary of state for health and social care on Tuesday, following the confirmation of Liz Truss‘ appointment by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, as Boris Johnson’s successor.

“President Ramaphosa looks forward to working with Prime Minister Truss to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation and friendship between the two countries,” the statement read.

Coffey, who’s already garnered popularity among the world’s youth, thanks, for the most part, to her Dr Dre alarm blunder, will serve as Truss’ hand in leading the UK away from the country’s cost-of-living crisis.
