Buckingham Palace confirmed, in a statement, that Duke of Edinburgh Prince Phillip passed away peacefully on Friday morning.

In a statement released by the British monarchy, it was said that Phillip, after 99 years of life, cast his last breath at Windsor Castle.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle, the statement read.

At this time, the cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Although, BBC News had recently reported that the husband of Queen Elizabeth underwent surgery for his heart condition in March. This was after he had spent a month under intense supervision at a hospital in London, UK.

The tragic news of Prince Phillip’s passing has added further woes to Buckingham Palace. The 99-year-old’s transitioning comes a month after the wool was lifted on the scale of oppression Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle suffered under the rule of The Firm.

At this time, no statements have come from the couple who have since moved on with their lives in the United States.
