McCarthy was beaming as Manchester United claimed an emphatic 3-1 win against rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, 4 September 2022.

Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag appointed McCarthy as a first-team coach. His primary focus is on player positioning, finishing, and more.

However, since McCarthy’s appointment, United has been finding the back of the net more often than not. They have now won four Premier League games on the trot.

Marcus Rashford‘s two goals and a dream debut goal for Antony secured the victory as log leaders Arsenal saw their winning start to the season end at Old Trafford.

After the match, McCarthy was seen in the tunnel handing out high fives and hugs to the players as they walked towards the dressing room.

The victory pushed United up to fifth place on the log with a total of 12 points. Although, they are three points off leaders Arsenal and two points behind Manchester City and Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Brighton holds fourth place with 13 points after a convincing 5-2 win over Leicester City.

McCarthy will once again be in the Old Trafford dugout on Thursday, 8 September 2022. United is set to play against Real Sociedad.

The game will be broadcast on SuperSport channel 205 and start at 21:00.
