Sony and game developer Sucker Punch have revealed the PlayStation 5 ‘Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition’, tied to their upcoming game Ghost of Yōtei.
PlayStation unveils ‘Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition’ console
This special console comes in two artistic designs—Gold and Black—that reflect the game’s world and traditions. The Gold version draws from kintsugi, a Japanese method that repairs broken pottery with gold lacquer, showing how flaws can be made beautiful.
The Black version uses sumi-e, Japanese ink painting known for its bold, expressive brush strokes.
Both editions include a matching DualSense controller with a touchpad featuring Atsu’s silhouette, and both items feature a small engraved “maker’s seal” in the shape of the PlayStation logo.
Design elements like Mount Yōtei appear on the console as well, giving a direct nod to the game’s starring character and setting.
This bundle also includes a digital copy of the game and exclusive in-game items.
How this console is different from the original console
At a glance, the Ghost of Yōtei console is a standard PS5 with disc drive—but the differences go much deeper:
- Unique aesthetic – Unlike the plain white or black versions, these consoles showcase kintsugi gold or sumi-e black finishes inspired by Japanese art, giving each device character and meaning.

The Gold Limited Edition Bundle will be available globally on 2 October 2025, through direct.playstation.com and select retailers.
The Black Limited Edition Bundle is exclusive to direct.playstation.com in regions like the US, UK, and much of Europe. Individual accessories offer flexibility:
