October brings big changes and bigger rewards for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Alongside new game additions, Xbox has announced major upgrades to the service, introducing new subscription tiers designed to deliver more flexibility, value, and benefits across console, PC, and cloud.
Xbox announces changes to Game Pass
Since launching in 2017, Xbox Game Pass has grown into one of gaming’s most popular subscription services.
In October 2025, Xbox is evolving the program with three refreshed plans: Essential, Premium, and Ultimate.
- Ultimate is now the all-in-one plan, with over 75 day-one releases a year, expanded cloud gaming at up to 1440p, Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew, and enhanced Rewards with Xbox. Members gain access to over 400 games across console, PC, and cloud, plus exclusive EA Play benefits.
- Premium offers more than 200 games across platforms, unlimited cloud gaming, and new additions like Diablo IVand Hogwarts Legacy. It also provides enhanced in-game benefits and up to $50 annually in Rewards points.
- Essential delivers the core Game Pass experience, featuring 50+ curated titles, online multiplayer, unlimited cloud gaming, and Rewards benefits worth up to $25 annually.
Pricing has been adjusted to reflect these upgrades: Ultimate at $29.99/month, Premium at $14.99/month, and Essential at $9.99/month.
Existing subscribers to Core and Standard will automatically transition to Essential and Premium respectively.
