It is the end of the line for fans of the free-for-play Forza Street racing game.
When will Forza Street be shutting down?
In a Forza Motorsport blog post, Turn 10 Studios’ Principal Design Director Andy Beaudoin confirmed that after three years since its launch (it was Miami Street at the time), a decision was made “to close Forza Street as the team shifts its focus to new and exciting Forza experiences.”
“We understand this is tough news for our players, however, we wanted to take this time to share our gratitude and thanks to all who joined us on our first journey into mobile,” Beaudoin wrote.
No official date of termination has been announced but players were informed that the free-for-play racing game will be accessible throughout the Autumn.season (Spring in the northern hemisphere).
Last update to include these features
Beaudoin also confirmed that one last update has been activated for the game, which includes:
- A new unreleased car
- Rare & Epic Spotlights
- Faster Energy Recharge and reduced wait times on car shows
- Reduced prices on all items purchased with in-game currency
It will be a sentimental period for devoted gamers who sacrificed blood, sweat and tears in finishing collection goals and purchasing in-app upgrades using real currency.
However, with regards to the latter, Turn 10 Studios has officially disabled the function.
“With the closure of Forza Street happening soon, we will no longer be accepting in-app purchases. We will also be automatically refunding any purchases made by players within the past 30 days. These refunds will be executed automatically, according to the policies of the stores in which they were made, so please refer to the appropriate store for details,” Beaudoin explained.
