Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of MK Party founder Jacob Zuma, is at the centre of a growing dispute within the party after launching a scathing attack on party Secretary General Floyd Shivambu.

The MK Party has since demanded a public apology, warning of disciplinary action, including possible expulsion. However, Zuma-Sambudla has shown no signs of backing down.

The conflict erupted after Zuma-Sambudla took to X (formerly Twitter), posting a series of inflammatory remarks about Shivambu.

She referred to him as the “worst thing that happened to MK,” called him “useless,” and told him “F** you Floyd.”

She also accused his supporters of being “Bloody Mafikizolos,” a term often used to describe political newcomers.

The MK Party swiftly responded with an official statement, condemning her outburst and making it abundantly clear that her actions violated the party’s Disciplinary Code of Conduct.

According to the statement:

“Such actions are unacceptable, divisive, denigrating, and offensive. They undermine the principles of unity, respect, and discipline that are fundamental to the values of uMkhonto weSizwe Party.”

Party President Jacob Zuma issued a directive demanding that his daughter issue an “unconditional public apology” to Shivambu, the party, and its supporters.

The statement also warned that disciplinary proceedings would follow, and failure to comply could lead to “immediate consequences, including the summary termination of Commander Duduzile Zuma’s membership.”

Instead of backing down, Zuma-Sambudla reacted defiantly to the party’s statement.

Posting on X, she wrote:

“They will expel me tomorrow… It is well with my soul. OKSALAYO FLOYD IS USELESS!!!”

The response made it clear that she has no intention of apologising, setting the stage for a potential showdown between herself and the party’s leadership.

The growing internal dispute raises questions about the stability of the MK Party, which has only been in existence for two years.

With tensions running high, all eyes are now on Jacob Zuma and the party’s leadership to see whether they will follow through with disciplinary measures or attempt to mediate the conflict behind closed doors.
