Electricity supply interruptions affected Worcester and Eersterivier on Thursday, 30 May 2024, due to strong winds and heavy rain.

In a statement, Eskom confirmed technical response teams were dispatched to investigate and repair the damage to the infrastructure.

The disruptions impacted several areas, leaving residents without power for extended periods.

The power utility stressed that it has been prioritising faults impacting election proceedings as the weather conditions continue to cause challenges.

“Eskom encourages the affected customers to report any electricity supply interruptions as the inclement weather continues to persist,” the statement read.

The electricity supplier apologised for the inconvenience caused and reassured customers that efforts are underway to restore power as quickly as possible.

“The inclement weather can affect electricity restoration time leading to prolonged periods without supply,’ the utility added.
