Anele Tembe death: What’s the latest?
While AKA moves on with his life as a formerly engaged widower, matters in Tembe’s death inquest have lost momentum.
Currently, Tembe’s death has not been ruled as self-inflicted harm. Instead, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) referred the case docket back to the Western Cape police for further investigation, a standard procedure “for all matters where the deceased dies of unnatural causes.”
“The matter concerning the deceased, Ms Anele Tembe, was referred to the office of the Western Cape director of public prosecutions. The docket was subsequently returned to the police for further investigation,” NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said last week.
At this juncture, AKA has not officially been tagged as a suspect in his fiancee’s death. The rapper reflected on the horrors of that fateful night in an Instagram post, four months to the day after Tembe’s fatal fall.
“I will never be the same person I was … but I will do the best I can with the gift and opportunity of life that I still have left. Thank you to everyone who has stuck by me and our respective families … you know who you are”, he wrote.
