After 14 years of being together and two children, Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict are ending their marriage. However, Mowry has vowed to “maintain a friendship” with Hardrict.
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict divorce after 14 years: Here’s what we know
Mowry took to her Instagram on Tuesday, 4 October 2022, to announce the split.
She wrote:
“I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness.”
“We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together,” Tia added.
She ended her post by thanking her family and friends for the support that the two of them have received.
As per TMZ, the 44-year-old filed for divorce because of “irreconcilable differences.” Tia filed for divorce on Monday, 3 October 2022.
She is also requesting joint legal and physical custody of their children, Cairo and Cree Hardrict, and has asked the court to strike out any motion for spousal support since they had a premarital agreement.
Hardrict has not yet responded to the divorce or Mowry’s social media announcement.
Tia and Cory relationship timeline
The pair first met when Hardict made an appearance in an episode of Tia’s show Sister, Sister back in 1996, ENews cites. They started dating in 2000, and at the same time, Hardrict worked as a security guard.
The couple dated for six years before he asked for her hand in marriage. Hardrict and Mowry exchanged vows on 20 April 2008 in Santa Barbara, California.
In early 2011, Tia broke the news that she and Hardrict were expecting their first child. In June of that same year, she gave birth to their son Cree. The couple renewed their vows five years into their marriage in April 2013.
In 2017, the star announced that she was expecting their second child. The couple welcomed their daughter, Cairo, in May 2018.
To mark their 14th anniversary earlier this year, Mowry shared a post dedicated to her husband.
She wrote on Instagram:
“I’ve loved you for 22 years and I’ll love you for a million more.”
