Terry Crews gets owned by social media for ‘black supremacy’ tweets

If Terry Crews failed to grasp why he ought to apologise to Gabrielle Union, why are you surprised by his black supremacy tweets?

Terry Crews is quickly finding out that speaking your mind is. at times, all about timing. Unfortunately, the context of his tweets may have been ill-timed and for that, he paid dearly.

Social media grills Terry Crews for these tweets

The super-ripped actor was thrown over the fence and to the other side of the Black Lives Matter movement after he raised questions about a faction of black people who exhibited the same traits as white supremacists.

Suffice it to say, these comments, however innocent in motive they were, not taken kindly by the celebrities who have been using their platform to bring awareness to the plight faced by black people in the United States (US).

What was Terry Crews thinking?

To say that Terry Crews was tone-deaf in those tweets is a gross understatement. The man does not know what he is talking about, to say the very least.

In a way, it gives credence to notions around brawn people but we won’t go any further into that. Our goal is to educate.

Clearly, Terry Crews was misguided in his comments. In his perspective, black protesters who are sick and tired of being asphyxiated by a system that was designed by white people o oppress them, are supremacist in their actions and mentality if they take action without white sympathists.

Here is the definition of white supremacy

We live in the age of digital where knowledge is available at the touch of a button so we went ahead and sourced an academic definition of the term ‘white supremacist’. Here it goes, Crews. According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL):

White supremacy is a term used to characterize various belief systems central to which are one or more of the following key tenets: 1) whites should have dominance over people of other backgrounds, especially where they may co-exist; 2) whites should live by themselves in a whites-only society;
3) white people have their own "culture" that is superior to other cultures;
4) white people are genetically superior to other people.

Taking the above into account, it is unfathomable how Crews could gage the Black Lives Matter protests that were rose from the brutal killing of George Floyd as an act of black supremacy.

Although, we all know what they say about those with brawn.
