- Region Affected: South-western parts of the Northern Cape
- Impact: These strong winds pose a risk to high-sided vehicles, particularly on open roads and passes, where the wind can cause sudden swerving or overturning. Caution is advised for truck drivers and logistics operators.
- Yellow Level 1 Warning: Damaging Winds – Eastern Cape
- Region Affected: Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality
- Impact: Winds may damage temporary structures such as informal dwellings or construction scaffolding. There’s also an elevated risk of runaway veld fires due to dry and windy conditions.
- Yellow Level 2 Warning: Damaging Winds (effective 31 July) – Eastern Cape
- Region Affected: Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi District Municipalities
- Impact: Anticipated to cause localised infrastructure damage and disrupt communications and electricity supply. These impacts are likely to begin early Thursday.
- Yellow Level 2 Warning: Damaging Waves (effective 31 July – 1 August) – West Coast
- Region Affected: Coastal stretch between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay
- Impact: Risk of capsizing for small boats and difficulty in navigation. Coastal users, including port and harbour operators, are urged to plan for rough seas.
Forecast Overview
