A Level 1 alert indicates a low probability of significant impact, though vulnerable areas and poorly secured vessels may be affected.
Extremely High Fire Danger Conditions
- Critical fire weather is anticipated in the following areas:
- The western half of North West Province,
- North-eastern KwaZulu-Natal,
- Nyandeni Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape.
These conditions can support rapid fire spread, endangering agricultural zones and settlements, especially where vegetation is dry and winds are strong.

Very cold, wet and windy conditions are forecast for parts of the interior of Namakwa (Northern Cape)and Witzenberg Municipality (Western Cape).
Light snowfall is possible over the northern high-lying areas of the Eastern Cape, which may affect travel and livestock farming.
