    • Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Richtersveld Municipality in the Northern Cape.
  • Advisories:
    • Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected over the Richtersveld Municipality in the Northern Cape from Wednesday, 2 October 2024. These conditions will spread to the Nama Khoi and Kamiesberg Municipalities, including the Matzikama Municipality in the Western Cape by Thursday. The heatwave is expected to end on Sunday.

Winds will blow from the south-southeast at 33 km/h, bringing a fresh breeze throughout the day.

Durban is expected to have a high of 18°C and a low of 14°C. There is a 30% chance of rain, with light sprinkles expected late in the day, and cloud cover will be 100%. Winds will be coming from the southeast at about 15 km/h, making it a gentle breeze throughout the day.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg will experience sunny conditions with a high of 22°C and a low of 7°C. The morning will start off cool at 12°C, warming up to a mild 23°C by the afternoon. Winds will be gentle from the north-northeast at around 18 km/h, and there will be no cloud cover throughout the day.

It will be light to moderate east to north-easterly along the south coast, becoming fresh to strong from the afternoon.
  • Western Half of the Eastern Cape: Morning fog in places, otherwise fine and cool, but partly cloudy along the coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly becoming fresh to strong.
  • Eastern Half of the Eastern Cape: Morning fog in places south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with light rain in the extreme northeast. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly, becoming north-easterly by the afternoon.
  • KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy with isolated showers and rain except in the extreme west. The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme.
