Fire Danger Warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are forecasted for the Northern Cape, extreme southwestern parts of the North West, northern and western parts of the Western Cape, and central and western parts of the Eastern Cape.

Advisories

Extremely uncomfortable humid conditions are expected in the interior of the Western Cape and the Namakwa District of the Northern Cape.

Moreover, extremely hot conditions with day temperatures reaching 40°C and above are predicted in places within the Khai-Ma Municipality in the Northern Cape and the Prince Albert and Oudsthoorn Municipalities in the Western Cape.

Eastern Cape

In the western half, expect a fine and hot day, with light northeasterly winds turning moderate to fresh easterly in the afternoon.

In the east, the morning may bring cloudy conditions with fog south of the escarpment, clearing to a fine and warm day with windy conditions in the north. Moderate to fresh north-easterly winds will prevail along the coast.

Free State

Morning fog patches in the east will clear to a fine and warm day, with partly cloudy skies developing over the central and northern parts.

Gauteng

The weather will be partly cloudy and warm, with a high UVB sunburn index.

KwaZulu-Natal

Morning fog over the interior and light rain over the northern midlands are expected, followed by a fine and warm day.

Coastal winds will be moderate south-easterly, strengthening and becoming moderate to fresh northeasterly from the south by mid-morning. The UVB sunburn index is very high.

Limpopo

Warm conditions are on tap for the west, while the east will see partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures with drizzle along the escarpment areas.

Mpumalanga

Partly cloudy and cool, with cloudy periods bringing rain and drizzle in the east. It will be warm in the extreme eastern areas.

North West

The forecast is for a fine and warm day, becoming partly cloudy in the east during the afternoon.

Northern Cape

A fine day is expected, with warm to hot temperatures, and conditions becoming very hot in some eastern areas. Strong south-easterly winds will blow along the coast.

Western Cape

The Karoo region is set to experience extremely hot temperatures. Overall, the day will be fine and warm to hot, with very hot conditions over the interior.

Partly cloudy conditions will develop over the extreme northeastern and southwestern parts by the evening. Coastal winds will be moderate to fresh south to south-easterly along the southwest coast, shifting to east to north-east and then to south-westerly late afternoon.

The UVB sunburn index is expected to be extreme.
