Amapiano artist Sir Trill was set to have a radio interview with broadcaster Thabo T-bose Mokwele on his Kaya959 show, The Best in the City, on Friday morning, but he did not show up because it “was too early”.

Tbose took to Twitter to express how sad he was at Trill’s reluctance to get out of bed before 09:00.

Mokwele’s show is known for being interactive, educational, and empowering while highlighting some of South Africa’s best personalities.

Trill is known for his contributions to some of the biggest piano hits in the country. He has been featured on hit songs such as John Wick, Emlajeni, Phuze, and many more. Therefore, his cancellation disappointed many South Africans as well.

However, the John Wick hitmaker seems to be a man of few words. In the midst of the commotion on Twitter, the artist simply said he realised that he is being “bullied” for his silence. He said many of the things said about him are false but he would rather continue with his silence than address the misconceptions.

Here’s how fans reacted to Trill’s stunt

Trill was already trending for his controversial collaboration with entertainer Khanyi Mbau that he teased on social media this week.

However, after radio host Mokwele shared his sadness about the Amapiano artist not showing up, the conversation quickly shifted.

Here are some of the reactions we picked out from social media.
