The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the grant payment schedule for July 2025.
What are the SASSA and SRD Grant payment dates for July 2025?
This includes payment dates for permanent grants and the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, along with ongoing updates about grant amounts and payment access rules.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to take note of key dates and requirements to ensure smooth payment processing.
The following payment dates apply for SASSA permanent grants in July 2025:
- Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 2 July 2025
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 3 July 2025
- Child Support Grant and other grants: Thursday, 4 July 2025
Payments are made directly through SASSA’s approved methods, including Postbank and designated retailers. Beneficiaries are reminded to collect their grants according to their assigned payment method to avoid delays.
For recipients of the SRD Grant, payments will be issued between 25 and 31 July 2025.
The SRD grant, currently set at R350, remains in effect until March 2026, as confirmed by the National Treasury.

3. Postbank Black Card and Payment Access
The transition to the Postbank Black Card is now fully in effect. Postbank’s Bongani Dikeo previously confirmed that June 2025 marked the final deadline for swapping the older SASSA Gold Card.
Beneficiaries who have already migrated to the Black Card can access their grants at:
- ATMs across South Africa
- Retail stores including Shoprite, Usave, Boxer, Spar, Pick n Pay, and Checkers
Important Note: Postbank has stated that Post Office branches will not serve beneficiaries with Black Cards. Grant recipients must use designated retailers or ATMs for transactions.
Beneficiaries who did not migrate by June 2025 may face difficulties accessing their grants through former channels and are advised to visit Postbank to complete the transition process.
