Motorists planning to travel through Pretoria’s Central Business District (CBD) on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, are advised to be aware of road closures and disruptions.

The Unpaid Benefit Campaign, a group advocating for the release of withheld pension funds, will stage a march that will affect multiple streets in the area.

In a statement, the Tshwane Metro Poice Department (TMPD) confirmed the march will begin at Marabastad Old Putco Depot at 10:00, with participants proceeding to the National Treasury offices at 131 Thabo Sehume Street.

They are expected to disperse by 13:30.

The following streets will be affected during the demonstration:

  • Kgosi Mampuru Street
  • Sophy De Bryn Street
  • Johannes Ramokhoase Street
  • Madiba Street
  • Bosman Street
  • Paul Kruger Street
  • Thabo Sehume Street

To minimize inconvenience, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes, including:

  • WF Nkomo Street
  • Francis Baard Street
  • Nana Sita Street

TMPD and SAPS officers will be deployed throughout the CBD to monitor the situation and ensure safety.
