Renowned broadcaster Pearl Modiadie was forced to address speculation around her status to former sports anchor Andile Ncube after the two were seen ‘cosied’ up at a restaurant recently.
Pearl Modiadie is dating, but Andile Ncube is not her man
The rumour mill went into overdrive when City Press published an article claiming, Modiadie was seen hugging and allegedly kissing Ncube at a Tasha’s branch situated in Morningside, Johannesburg, last month.
According to reports, the two appeared very intimate and, if anything, their conduct cast speculation that, perhaps, they were dating. However, this could not be farther from the truth, Modiadie noted in a statement she released on Monday.
โWith regards to the City Press article regarding my personal life. I am not in a relationship with the said party, I’m in a relationship that my partner and I have decided to keep private. Please also note that I’m merely putting this out as a sign of respect to our families, close friends and to clear this matter,” she wrote.

Modiadie further clarified that she and Ncube are good friends who were out on a breakfast meet-up and, as far as she knows, there was nothing untoward about their conduct.
The former Metro FM radiocaster made headlines in late 2021 when she announced her separation from Nathaniel Oppenheimer, the father of her child.
โI wasnโt able to achieve my dream of having the family Iโve always longed for. But out of it came my beautiful son and for that, Iโm eternally grateful,โ she noted in a statement at the time.
Modiadie is in a relationship. However, her romantic partner remains unknown for now.
