The 25-year-old recently returned to the music circuit with the release of her new single Fair. In the build-up to the drop, Normani ramped up the ante with a lot of NSFW promo, courting controversy over her nude videos.

It seems, the ‘sex sells’ approach may not have hit the mark with Fair since, according to Chart Data, a certified music sales tracker, the new single debuted at number 152 on the US Spotify charts with only 259 000 streams on its release day.

With Billboard‘s weekly Hot 100 singles chart due for release on Tuesday, it appears, more than likely, the songstress’ single is performing below expectations.

To add more worry to her woes, a snippet of the 25-year-old’s unreleased music leaked on social media.

Normani ‘stans’ would know that this is something she hates since, more than anything, it impacts the pace of her album rollout.

The singer took to Twitter to inform her fans of how ‘pissed’ she was and, without explicitly stating it, confirmed that it had something to do with the snippet leak.

The untitled song is uptempo, a bit left-field for Norman’s taste but, if this snippet leak was unintended, it may be a blessing in disguise since fans have not stopped raving about it.

Normani teased her debut album release would come in 2022 but following this leak, some believe it may be pushed back.
