As of Tuesday, 27 September 2022, Christian worship singer Dante Bowe will no longer be a part of Maverick City Music.

According to The Standard, Maverick City Music announced Tuesday that they had “paused” their collaboration with the singer. Bowe may still collaborate with the choir in the future, but for the time being, he is not a member and will not be singing with them.

Maverick said in a statement on social media that one of the reasons it decided to break off relations with the singer is that his behaviour was at odds with their values.

“Due to behavior that is inconsistent with our core values and beliefs, we have decided to put a pause on our professional relationship with Dante Bowen.”

Maverick continued on to say:

“Decisions like these are not easy because of the level of nuance, both professionally and personally, but we felt it necessary to address.”

Although it is still unclear exactly what actions led to the breakdown of their relationship, Maverick added that they would give him “unwavering support” as he starts a new journey.

 “Each of us need God’s grace and our hope is that we all pray and give him the same opportunity to grow in Christ.”

Bowe has yet to comment on the matter.

Born on 10 May 1993 in Rockingham, North Caroline, Bowe grew up in a very religious family as his grandparents were Christian ministers.

Bowe released his debut single, Potter and Friend, in 2017. In March of that same year, he began work on his studio album, Son of a Father.

Bowe signed with Bethel Music in June 2019. He was nominated for the Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year GMA Dove Award in 2020.

In March 2021, Circles, his second studio album, was released. Joyful was the album’s lead single. Besides receiving high praise for his music, Bowe is a five-time Grammy nominee. Bowe also featured in several collaborations, most notably the song Wait on You alongside Elevation Worship, Maverick City Music, and Chandler Moore.
