The N3 Southbound between Peter Brown and Armitage Road is closed on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, for the recovery of an overturned vehicle.
What caused the KZN N3 South road closure?
The operation commenced at 09:00, necessitating a temporary road closure to ensure the safety and efficiency of the recovery efforts.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) Pietermaritzburg, in collaboration with N3 Toll Concession (N3TC), uMgeni, Msunduzi Municipal Traffic, and the South African Police Service (SAPS), managed the road closure.
Heavy motor vehicles travelling southbound towards Peter Brown were stacked at the arrestor bed to prevent congestion and ensure safety during the recovery process.
Meanwhile, light motor vehicles were diverted via the R103 at Cedara, allowing them to rejoin the N3 at Armitage Roadblock.
This diversion aimed to minimize disruptions and provide an alternative route for light vehicle traffic.
Authorities worked diligently to manage the traffic flow and ensure the recovery operation was conducted smoothly.
Motorists were advised to follow the directions provided by traffic officers and exercise patience during the temporary closure.
