Iran attacks Israel: Here are the latest updates

The attack follows a similar missile strike in April, but this latest assault was larger in scale, according to Israeli military officials.

The Iron Dome and other defence systems intercepted most of the missiles, but some managed to hit targets in Israel, including military bases, schools, and restaurants.

Footage aired by Israeli TV stations showed missiles flying over the Tel Aviv area just before 19:45 local time.

Despite the barrage, no Israeli fatalities have been reported, although two individuals were slightly injured by shrapnel.

In contrast, a man in Jericho, in the West Bank, was killed by falling debris from the missile attack, according to reports from AFP.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that its hypersonic missiles hit 90% of their targets and confirmed that three Israeli military bases were directly targeted.

Iran warns of second wave of attacks – Here’s what we can confirm

Following the missile strikes, Iran warned that a second wave of attacks could be even more devastating.

A senior IRGC commander stated that Iran’s next response would be “more crushing and ruinous” if Israel chooses to retaliate.

Iranian officials, including Major General Mohammad Bagheri, have issued stern warnings to Israel and its allies, saying any further aggression would escalate the conflict further.

The missile barrage was in direct response to the killing of key Iranian and Hezbollah figures, including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoshan, who were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Beirut earlier in the week.

Iran has vowed to avenge these deaths and continues to threaten more retaliatory strikes against Israeli targets.

In response to the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed there would be consequences, stating that Iran had made a “big mistake” and would pay for it.

The Israeli military has already launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Beirut, warning civilians to evacuate areas where Hezbollah operates.
