DJ Maphorisa capped off his paid gig at the 2021 Dubai Expo with an impromptu shopping spree that saw him spend more than R1 million on fine jewellery.

The Amapiano pioneer recently jetted off to join the festivities at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) country, where the likes of Khanyi Mbau, Daliwonga and other prominent South Africa artists were in attendance.

Sure, Phori did what needed to be done on stage with his performance that must have pleased the crowd. However, what got the internet chirping were his antics outside the tourism event.

In this video clip that’s gone viral, Maphorisa can be seen draped in gold jewellery, including a Cartier watch with a price tag of R1.5 million.

For those who needed further proof of the producer’s wealth, Phori posted a clip of him hauling out bundles of $100 notes, as Daliwong sat beside him, taking in the event unfolding before his eyes.

Phori’s spending spree did not end there. Following his Instagram Stories, the producer went on to drop more bundles of foreign currency on limited edition Nike sneakers, Prada gear and Balenciaga, among other things.
