Radio broadcaster Bujy Bikwa is in a fight for his livelihood as avenues that were once open to him closed off after his bloody brawl with Boity Thulo.

Bujy Bikwa accuses Boity of crimen injuria

Shortly after audio and images of Thulo’s blood-drenched face surfaced on the internet, Bikwa came out of hiding for the first time to address the events that took place at a Midrand kickback last week Thursday.

In the audio recording, an inebriated Bikwa could be heard mouthing off with unknown participants, including Boity, about spirituality. It’s when the conversation towards this highly subjective topic that things went sour between the two.

Insults were thrown and according to Bikwa, Thulo was the chief instigator who allegedly assaulted him -physically and emotionally, in the moments leading up to the vicious attack he launched at her.

According to a case docket that was opened against Thulo at the Midrand police station, the former Metro FM jockey claimed he was repeatedly struck by the businesswoman and moreover, he was allegedly targeted with repeated slander and derogatory slurs.

“She said I am famous for being fat and there is nothing more to me. She punched me and beat me, saying I was a man and could take it,” Bikwa told Daily Sun.

Celebs demand justice for Boity

Bikwa has admitted his culpability in injuring Thulo in the face, leaving her with scars that we now know required urgent medical attention.

However, the broadcaster, in his defence, has launched a court bid against the Def Jam rapper, making it clear that he may not be as remorseful for his actions as the apology in his statement suggests.

Alas, police have confirmed that Boity is being investigated over claims made by Bikwa. Peers of the two entertainers seem to be leaning towards Thulo, though.

Celebrities like DJ Zinhle and Denise Zimba have rallied behind calls for justice in her assault case. Bikwa is currently out on R2 000 bail and is due back in court soon.

Thulo, on the other hand, may be required to appear in court to register a response to Bikwa’s accusations.
