The 2021 South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) left social media buzzing, on Friday night, with controversial category wins and milestones.

It was a big night for Cassper, A-Reece and Big Zulu

At the height of the hype were honours bestowed on Cassper Nyovest — deservedly so — who was crowned Artist of the Decade, a title he will hold for the next nine years.

About the crowning, Nyovest said:

A-Reece, whose recently released album with elder brother Jay Jody, Heaven Can Wait, was well-received, also notched a couple of categories, including the coveted Lyricist of the Year. However, Big Zulu was the star of night, walking away with six honours, including Song of the Year, Best Album and Best Male.
