Showmax’s October 2025 schedule includes a range of premieres, from Halloween thrillers and Pride Month content to award-winning local productions and international hits.
What to expect from Showmax in October 2025
Viewers can expect new series, movies, stand-up specials, documentaries and sports streams.
For Halloween, IT: Welcome to Derry leads the lineup with a prequel series to the IT films, debuting on 31 October.
Earlier in the month, spy drama Black Bag, starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, becomes available from 13 October.
The award-winning local family film Finding Optel, which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, debuts on 24 October.
Series highlights include Dexter: Resurrection, returning with a new season on 7 October, and The Paper, a new mockumentary from the creators of The Office.
Another local highlight is Skemergrond, an Afrikaans telenovela set on a flower farm rocked by family secrets.
Pride Month programming includes A Nice Indian Boy and the documentary Young, Gifted & Queer. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael’s Don’t Be Gay also features this month.
