New on Netflix in September 2025: Top highlights of the month

One of the most anticipated events of the month is the live-streamed Canelo vs Crawford boxing match, set for 13 September. This bout is also supported by the release of the behind-the-scenes docuseries Countdown: Canelo vs Crawford, launching earlier on 4 September.

Another headline release is Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, premiering 11 September.

The series is part of Netflix’s ongoing partnership with the director and joins a growing list of Perry’s popular titles on the platform. Released alongside it is the drama Diary of a Ditched Girl, offering another take on complex relationships.

In the documentary category, Aka Charlie Sheen (10 September) explores the actor’s tumultuous life in the spotlight, while Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story (16 September) takes a deeper look into the intersection of monarchy and modern romance.
