Fans of timeless animated stories can now enjoy Dr Seuss’s Horton, which is officially streaming on Netflix South Africa from Monday, 6 October 2025.
This beloved Dr Seuss tale follows Horton, a gentle, big-hearted elephant who believes that even the smallest voices matter.
The series brings to life the Jungle of Nool, a colourful world filled with quirky characters, laughter, and lessons about kindness, courage, and doing what’s right, even when others don’t believe you.
Dr Seuss’s Horton is inspired by the character Horton the Elephant, who first appeared in the 1940 book Horton Hatches the Egg and later in Horton Hears a Who! (1954).

- In 2008, the big-screen version Horton Hears a Who! starred Jim Carrey as Horton, with Steve Carell voicing the Mayor of Whoville.
- Horton even appeared in Seussical: The Musical (2000) on Broadway, played by Kevin Chamberlin, proving his cross-generational appeal.
