The unsolved mystery of Amy Bradley’s disappearance
Amy was vacationing with her parents and younger brother aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas when she vanished on 24 March 1998.
After a night out dancing with her brother and meeting crew members—including a man known as Alister “Yellow” Douglas—Amy was last seen resting on the balcony of the family’s cabin.
Her father, Ron Bradley, recalled waking up around 06:00 and finding the balcony door open but Amy gone. Her sandals and lighter were missing too.
Despite immediate efforts by the family to stop passengers from leaving the ship, their request was denied.
A search by the cruise line, the FBI, and the Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard yielded no results.
Over the years, numerous potential sightings have been reported.
A local cab driver said Amy had approached him urgently asking for a phone.
Two fellow passengers recalled seeing her with Douglas shortly before she vanished. Douglas, later named a suspect on America’s Most Wanted, passed an FBI polygraph but continued to draw suspicion.
In another lead, diver David Carmichael claimed he saw a woman matching Amy’s description with two men in Curaçao. He recognised her distinctive tattoos, including a Tasmanian Devil spinning a basketball, which matched Amy’s known body art.
Amy Bradley’s case remains one of the most haunting unsolved disappearances linked to a cruise ship.
The documentary sheds light on the many unanswered questions and the toll it has taken on her family, who have spent years chasing every clue.
Amy Bradley Is Missing is now available to stream on Netflix.
