  • Kabza De Small is facing a legal battle with former friend and producer Kelvin Momo over a contract dispute.
  • The dispute centres on royalty payments and promotional obligations that Kelvin claims were not fulfilled.
  • Kelvin Momo is demanding R1 million in compensation for unmet contractual obligations and unpaid royalties.

Kabelo “Kabza De Small” Motha, a prominent figure in the Amapiano music scene, is currently involved in a legal dispute with Thato Ledwaba, better known as Kelvin Momo.

According to reports, the conflict arose from a contract disagreement between Kelvin Momo and Kabza’s record label, PianoHub.

Momo, who was signed under PianoHub, alleges that the label failed to honour their contractual obligations, which included paying royalties every six months and promoting his music.

Momo claims that Kabza’s company did not effectively promote his 2020 project, Momo’s Private School, and did not secure the endorsements they had promised.

Additionally, Momo alleges that Kabza did not inform distributors and publishers that their agreement had ended, resulting in payments being misdirected to the label instead of directly to him.

Due to these grievances, Kelvin Momo has sought legal recourse, filing a lawsuit in the Johannesburg High Court.

He is demanding R1 million in compensation for unpaid royalties and the failure to meet contractual obligations.

Sources close to the matter reveal that the dispute has also strained the personal friendship between the two artists.

Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, Momo felt compelled to take legal action to address his concerns.
