Indigo Stella is part of the new indie wave pushing the envelope of South African Hip-Hop forward and on Friday, the Johannesburg-based rapper dropped off her new EP From the Jungle to the Stars (FJTS).

Indigo displays stellar performance on new EP

If, prior to encountering this five-pack, you had not heard of Stella, then FTJS would strike a first-time listener as yet another buzz, delivered in an exhaustively duplicated and algorithmic fashion, filtering through the sound waves.

10 seconds in, however, the tone of her voice would most probably capture your ear and before you know it, you would have zoned past the self-declaratory Won’t Concede and straight into the mosh-pit-erupting And’tholakali featuring a five-star appearance from Dee Koala.

This is the hallmark of FJTS. Blxckie‘s mammoth appearance, a nod that speaks to Stella’s position as next in line to stardom, is, respectfully, almost dwarfed by the sheer dominance of the two rapstresses.

The five-pack offering is a strong effort from the Johannesburg-based rapper and if anything, the blockbuster showing is a high-ticket teaser to the work she’s cooking in her five-star kitchen.
