Former Banyana Banyana footballer Portia Modise recently took to social media to plead for help finding her car, which was stolen in a hijacking.

According to the 41-year-old, the incident occurred at her home in White City, Soweto, as she was about to drive in.
Modise, who is also an author and coach, described the harrowing encounter, stating that five young men approached her and pointed a gun at her.
“Please, guys, I didn’t sleep at all. My car was taken by young Zulu guys who pointed firearms at me,” said the Soweto-born star.
Despite the traumatic incident, Modise expressed her gratitude for being alive, emphasizing the emotional toll it has taken on her.
The stolen vehicle is a blue VW Golf, which Modise says was taken as she was entering her home. The teary-eyed ex-footballer shared a heartfelt video on her social media accounts, pleading with her followers for help.
“I’m not okay, guys. I need your help to get my car back,” she said.
Portia Modise earned 120 caps for the South African National Women’s team, scoring 102 goals, the highest tally by any African player in both male and female categories.
She has been an inspirational figure in South African football, winning the Player of the Championship at the Women’s African Football Championship in 2006.
