On Sunday, Eskom raised hopes of a week of reprieve with suspended loadshedding.
In a statement, the struggling utility explained that due to consistent improvement in generation availability, along with reduced electricity demand, loadshedding would remain suspended “until further notice.”
“Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur,” the statement read.
As of Friday, 12 January 2024, breakdowns amounted to:
- 16 231MW – down 670MW from Monday, 1 January 2024
- 8 451MW – down 623MW from Monday, 1 January 2024
