On the week of Monday, 17 July 2023, Eskom expects to keep the loadshedding schedule rotating between a pattern of Stage 2 and Stage 4.

UPDATE 2: On Friday, 21 July 2023, Eskom escalated loadshedding to Stage 5 from 16:00 until midnight “due to higher than anticipated demand.” See the updated schedule below.

UPDATE 1: On Wednesday, 19 July 2023, Eskom escalated loadshedding to Stage 4 due to “the breakdowns of eight generating units since Tuesday evening.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.

Here’s the loadshedding schedule for week of Monday, 17 July 202

On Sunday, 16 July 2023, Eskom issued an update on the state of the power system, confirming the new week will follow a pattern of reduced outages, following a weekend of harsh Stage 6 blackouts.

Therefore, barring no unforeseen breakdowns, households should brace Stage 2 interruptions on Monday until 16:00 and Stage 4 in the evenings until further notice.

“As previously communicated, Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 on Monday. Thereafter, Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00, followed by Stage 4 loadshedding until 05:00 on Tuesday. This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice. Eskom will publish another update should any significant changes occur.,” the power utility tweeted.
