Skai Jackson, best known for her roles in Disney Channel series such as Jessie and Bunk’d, has filed for a restraining order against her boyfriend and the father of her child, Deondre Burgin.
Skai Jackson restraining order: Here’s what we know
The 22-year-old actress made the application in Los Angeles County Superior Court, detailing a series of violent and traumatic incidents that have allegedly taken place over the course of their relationship.
The most recent and alarming event reportedly occurred on Mother’s Day. According to court documents first seen by TMZ, Skai claims she was holding their three-month-old son, Kasai, when Burgin allegedly grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face. This incident, she states, was the final straw.
Jackson’s legal filing outlines a disturbing pattern of domestic violence dating back to at least 2024. She accuses Burgin of repeatedly assaulting her, saying he would choke and scratch her and slam her head into walls on a near-weekly basis during her pregnancy. She also alleges he destroyed several of her personal items, including her phone and television.
One particularly harrowing account in the documents describes an incident where Burgin allegedly held Jackson at knifepoint while demanding she drink bleach to terminate her pregnancy.
She says he threatened to stab her in the stomach if she called for help. Another episode, from the previous summer, saw her lock herself in a bathroom—only for Burgin to punch through the door and choke her until she couldn’t breathe. Jackson claims she has video evidence of at least one such assault.
According to Jackson, Burgin owns three firearms, including a rifle. She says she fears for her safety and that of their child. She has requested that a judge order Burgin to stay at least 100 yards away from her, their son, and her pet dog. She is also asking for mandatory participation in a domestic violence program, legal fees, and a formal child support agreement.
This is not their first rodeo with domestic abuse
This is not the couple’s first encounter with the law.
In August 2024, Jackson herself was arrested for domestic battery after allegedly pushing Burgin during an altercation at Universal CityWalk.
While both initially denied any fight, security footage reportedly contradicted their claims. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is still reviewing that case.
The relationship between Jackson and Burgin appears to have been marked by mutual allegations of abuse.
With legal proceedings now underway, further details are likely to surface as the court addresses both the restraining order and related criminal investigations.
