Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban, have separated after nearly two decades together.

The couple, who married in 2006 and share two daughters, are said to have been living apart since the beginning of the American summer.

According to TMZ, Nicole Kidman has remained in the family’s Nashville home with their two children, now aged 14 and 17, while Keith Urban has moved into a separate residence in the same city.

Sources close to the couple say Kidman did not want the separation and has been “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.”

The couple’s relationship has long been seen as one of Hollywood’s more enduring marriages. They first met in January 2005 at G’Day LA, a gala event celebrating Australians in the United States.

By June 2006, they were married in a ceremony held at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney, Australia.

Their honeymoon was in French Polynesia, marking the beginning of what many viewed as a fairytale union.

Throughout their marriage, Kidman and Urban supported each other’s careers. Kidman, who is best known for her roles in films such as Moulin Rouge! and The Hours, often spoke about her husband’s influence in her life.

Urban, meanwhile, credited Kidman with helping him through his struggles with alcohol addiction earlier in their marriage.

Despite their glamorous careers and multiple homes across the United States and Australia, sources say the separation appears to be one-sided.

Reports suggest Nicole Kidman wanted to save the marriage, while Keith Urban has taken steps to build a new life, including moving into his own Nashville property.

At this stage, it remains unclear whether the couple will file for divorce.

In addition to their primary base in Nashville, they have owned properties in Beverly Hills, Manhattan, Sydney, and New South Wales. Their first daughter was born in 2008 in Nashville, while their second daughter arrived in 2010 via a gestational surrogate, also in Tennessee.

News of the separation comes as a surprise to many fans, given how often the couple spoke openly about their devotion to each other in interviews.

In 2015, Kidman told reporters that she and Urban “got to know each other during our marriage,” spotlighting the way their bond deepened over time.

For now, the focus for Kidman remains on her children, while Urban continues with his music career.

Neither has made an official public statement about the separation beyond the reports shared by sources close to them.
