Kelley Mack, best known for playing Addy in Season 9 of The Walking Dead, has died at the age of 33.
Walking Dead actress Kelley Mack passes away at 33
Her death was confirmed by her family in an Instagram post shared on her page on Tuesday, 5 August 2025, where they confirmed the actress died on Saturday, 2 August 2025, in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
According to family tributes, Mack died after a private battle with a rare form of central nervous system glioma. Glioma is a type of tumour that starts in the brain or spinal cord.
This condition involves the growth of abnormal cells in the brain or spinal cord and can affect basic functions like movement, speech, and vision. The disease is often difficult to treat and can progress slowly or aggressively.
Her family described her final moments as peaceful and surrounded by love.
“Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express,” the family shared in a statement.
In a tribute, Kelley’s sister Kathryn wrote that Kelley had “passed peacefully” and described her as a “bright, fervent light.”
“She is a beautiful soul and will be the best angel ever,” her aunt Karen also shared.
Her life and career
Kelley Mack was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. From an early age, she showed a passion for storytelling.
She began acting in commercials and made her film debut as “Chloe” in The Elephant Garden (2008), a role that earned her an Acting Award from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
That same film also received recognition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Though she had a gift for acting, Mack studied film production and cinematography. One of her most recent works as a producer was a horror film distributed by AMC’s Shudder.
It went on to win the Jury Choice Award at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival.
On screen, she became widely recognised for her role as Addy in The Walking Dead.
She also appeared as Alice in Broadcast Signal Intrusion and Penelope Jacobs in Chicago Med.
Kelley Mack is survived by her mother Kristen, aunt Karen, and siblings, including actor Parker Mack. Parker is known for his roles in Ouija: Origin of Evil, Faking It, and Chasing Life.
