The murder of comedian Reggie Carroll has taken an unexpected turn, with fellow entertainer Kat Williams being mentioned in connection with the case.
Kat Williams’ name linked to Reggie Carroll’s death
Carroll, 52, was fatally shot in Southaven, Mississippi on Wednesday, 20 August 2025. Police confirmed he died from gunshot wounds after being rushed to hospital.
According to Fox 13, a 38-year-old man named Tranell Marquise Williams has been arrested and charged with murder. However, the situation became more complicated after comedian and YouTuber Billy Sorrells publicly claimed that Kat Williams may also have some involvement.
In a video shared on Instagram, Sorrells did not directly accuse Kat Williams of pulling the trigger, but he strongly suggested the comedian had knowledge of what happened.
He claimed the shooting took place outside a property linked to Kat Williams and called on him to “tell the truth.”
“Katt Williams, you’re the truth teller … Well, I know you loved Reggie, we all did. So, Katt Williams, tell me why Reggie Carroll died outside your house? Tell us what happened,” Sorrells said.
He further claimed that the arrested suspect, Tranell Marquise Williams, may be related to Kat Williams or had worked with him in some way.
At this stage, police have not confirmed any family or professional link between the two men.
Kat Williams has not responded
As of now, Kat Williams has not made any public comment about Sorrells’ allegations. The silence has only fuelled speculation online, with many fans demanding clarity.
It is important to note that Sorrells’ claims are allegations, not confirmed facts. Police have named Tranell Marquise Williams as the official suspect, and Kat Williams has not been charged with any crime.
Reggie Carroll was well-known in the comedy world. He performed alongside major names like Mo’Nique and also produced a stand-up special called Knockout Kings of Comedy.
Friends and fans described him as a “solid” performer who did not take sides in conflicts within the comedy industry. His sudden death has left colleagues shocked and calling for answers.
The Southaven Police Department is still investigating the case. Forensic evidence and witness statements are being gathered, while Carroll’s family and fellow comedians wait for more information about what led to the shooting.
