Drake reportedly at odds with ex-pornstar baby mother over co-parenting dispute

Drake and Sophie Brussaux were seen in Toronto family court, where Sophie reportedly told a judge she is struggling financially while accusing the rapper of traveling abroad with their son Adonis without her permission.

Canadian rapper Drake is facing a legal dispute with the mother of his son, Sophie Brussaux, after both were spotted in Toronto’s family court earlier this year.

The case, which was first reported on 27 March 2025, involves disagreements about the parenting and care of their son, Adonis.

According to a blogger interview with court reporter David Wall, Brussaux is the one who initiated the court process, while Drake is listed as the respondent.

This means Sophie is the person who filed the case, and Drake is the one required to respond to her claims.

Wall explained that during the private hearings, Sophie told the judge she has been unable to find work to support herself.

She also claimed that Drake has been taking Adonis out of the country for trips without asking for her approval, which she says is against their co-parenting agreement.

“She explained to the judge that she has been completely unable to find a job to support herself and that Drake has been taking their son out of the country without her permission,” Wall said in the interview.

The court reporter also described how the rapper handled breaks during the hearings. Wall said Drake had a team of lawyers with him and would leave the building during recesses, likely for lunch, while Sophie had nowhere to go and would sit alone in the hallway waiting for proceedings to continue.

“Drake would leave the building with his lawyers, while Sophie remained outside the courtroom with nowhere to go,” Wall said.

Rumours about the court hearing first surfaced when a court sketch artist spotted Drake in family court.

The artist initially misidentified Sophie as Drake’s “ex-wife,” but later confirmed it was her when shown a picture. This confirmation fuelled online debates, especially since the rapper has faced accusations in the past of keeping family matters private.

Drake and Sophie share one child together, Adonis, who was born in 2017. Their co-parenting relationship has frequently been under public attention.

Following the court sighting, fans speculated on social media about whether the case involved hidden family issues. Some even linked the hearing to past diss tracks, particularly Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 release Meet the Grahams, which accused Drake of concealing parts of his personal life.

However, reporters following the case say the hearing is specifically about Drake and Sophie’s parenting arrangements for Adonis.
