The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs continues with testimony from a witness known as “Jane”, whose identity is protected.
What to expect from Day 16 of the Diddy trial
Prosecutors have requested that public screens in the courtroom be turned off to prevent accidental exposure of sensitive or unredacted material during Jane’s testimony.
Explicit videos and private text messages are expected to be shown during her direct examination.
The defence has also requested extended time and improved access to review sensitive text message evidence with Combs.
The judge has allowed private review sessions in the courtroom outside regular hours, but broader access is still under discussion.
What the court has heard thus far
Day 15 included testimony from Eddy Garcia, a former hotel security staff member at the InterContinental in Miami. Garcia, who was granted immunity to testify, recalled an incident involving Combs and Cassie Ventura in 2016. Garcia said he reviewed surveillance footage showing a confrontation between the two.
He described being contacted repeatedly by Kristina Khorram, an associate of Combs, who sought access to the video.
According to Garcia, Combs himself later called and requested the footage, stating he had been intoxicated and feared the video could damage his reputation.
Garcia testified that he told Combs he could not provide the video and was later offered help and compensation.
He also said his supervisor, Bill Medrano, suggested $50,000 could secure the footage.
Prosecutors introduced evidence from Khorram’s phone identifying Garcia as “Eddy My Angel,” supporting Garcia’s claim of repeated contact and pressure from Combs’ circle.
The second half of the day focused on Derek Ferguson, Combs’ former Chief Financial Officer.
Ferguson outlined Combs’ business empire, which included 100% ownership of companies like Bad Boy Productions and Janice Combs Music Inc. He confirmed Combs used company accounts for both personal and professional expenses, including American Express charges.
Ferguson also acknowledged internal transfers, including one for $20,000 to Cassie Ventura and another for the same amount from Roderick Ventura.
His cross-examination covered Combs’ business practices, security arrangements, and connections to companies like Diageo and Revolt.
Ferguson denied witnessing any criminal activity and stated he never saw coercion or abuse during his nearly 20-year tenure.
