Bad Bunny has secured one of the biggest stages in music: the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Bad Bunny selected to perform at Super Bowl LX
The NFL, Roc Nation, and Apple Music confirmed that the Puerto Rican superstar will headline the 2026 edition of the iconic performance.
The announcement was made on Sunday, 28 September 2025 (04:00 SAST, Monday, 29 September 2025) ahead of the Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers clash.
Bad Bunny celebrated the news by sharing a short video on Instagram, sitting atop a goalpost while his song Callaitaplayed. In a statement, he said:
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
The 2026 Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX) will take place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
A historic moment for Bad Bunny
Jay-Z, Roc Nation’s founder and chairman, praised the decision, saying:
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
The news comes during a huge year for the Latin trap and reggaeton star. His latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos dropped in January 2025, followed by a record-breaking residency in Puerto Rico and a global tour stretching across Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Europe in 2026.
Interestingly, Bad Bunny is not touring the United States this year or next, meaning his Super Bowl performance will be his only US appearance.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bad Bunny hinted at this when he wrote in Spanish:
“After speaking with my team, I think I’ll do just one show in the United States.”
The Super Bowl Halftime Show is known for hosting some of the biggest names in music. Bad Bunny follows in the footsteps of recent performers such as Kendrick Lamar (2025), Usher (2024), Rihanna (2023), and the star-packed lineup of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige, and Lamar in 2022.
