Portuguese actress Alba Baptista and her husband, Hollywood actor Chris Evans, have welcomed their first child.
People magazine confirmed that the couple’s baby was born on 24 October 2025 in Massachusetts, where they currently reside. The child’s name, according to TMZ, is Alma Grace and the gender is reportedly a girl.
Evans, best known for his role as Captain America in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, and Baptista, who gained international recognition through Netflix’s Warrior Nun, have largely kept their relationship private.
The couple married in September 2023 during an intimate ceremony held at a private estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, attended by close friends and family, including several of Evans’s Avengers co-stars such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner.
The pair’s relationship was first made public in late 2022 after fans noticed social media interactions between them.
They made their first official appearance as a couple in March 2024 at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in Beverly Hills, California, where they were photographed together on the red carpet.
Baptista, born in Lisbon in 1997, began her acting career in Portuguese television series such as Jardins Proibidos, A Impostora, and Filha da Lei. She later transitioned to international projects, debuting in English with Warrior Nun (2020–2022).
In 2022, she appeared in the period drama Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, followed by her role in the 2025 thriller-comedy Borderline.
Beyond acting, Baptista is known for her humanitarian work. In 2018, she volunteered at an orphanage in Cambodia, focusing on education and child development initiatives.
She speaks five languages — Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, and German — and has expressed interest in expanding her acting career to include writing and directing.
Evans, who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, has often spoken about his desire to start a family.
In a 2022 interview with People, he said:
“That’s absolutely something I want — wife, kids, building a family.”
His comments came months before his engagement to Baptista, whom friends describe as a grounding influence in his life.
Following the birth of their child, neither Evans nor Baptista has shared public statements, consistent with their approach to maintaining privacy around their relationship.
Sources close to the couple told People that both parents are “thrilled” and “doing well,” with the baby reportedly healthy and at home.
Baptista and Evans currently split their time between Massachusetts and Lisbon, where Baptista’s family lives.
Friends of the couple told TMZ that they plan to spend the next few months away from public appearances to focus on family life.
